Who we are
A holistic approach to prison ministry, built on relationship and the belief
that no life is beyond God's reach.

Our Story
Epiphany Life Change was founded by Pastor Charles Anderson. At 23, while serving in the U.S. Army at Fort Polk in Louisiana, he answered God's call to preach. He was licensed and ordained in 1990 and went on to lead several congregations.
After ten years in the Army, he was honorably discharged and began a career in corrections. Inside those walls, he developed a deep compassion for the men and women others had written off. While working for the Texas Department of Criminal Justice, he watched the same men cycle out of prison and back in, over and over. So he cashed in his retirement and opened his first halfway house — and eventually left TDCJ to run it full-time.
Epiphany Life Change was founded in October 2014. Its next chapter began when Pastor Anderson returned to volunteer at the Terrell Unit, teaching a course called Transformation. One student, Eugene Dixon, asked him a question that changed everything: "What is next? Is there anything that will help us dive deeper into the Bible?" That question led Pastor Anderson to a meeting with The Urban Ministry Institute (TUMI) - and to the TUMI-based discipleship model Epiphany Life Change still teaches inside Texas prisons today.
