Hello Family!

As back-to-school gears up and summer winds down (hopefully our first cool front isn’t too far off now – we can do this), we hope you have had a great summer season.

In this month’s newsletter, we have awesome updates from last month’s Family Day and testimonials from our TUMI class at the Wallace Pack Unit. We are pretty sure they will warm your heart like they did ours!

Also, our annual banquet is next month and registration is open! Tickets are at no-cost this year, so register to save your spot and come ready to hear all about what God has been doing thorugh ELC!

Update on July’s Family Day

The recent Family Day at the Stringfellow Unit was a great success. One of the attendees later posted on our Facebook this comment that warmed us through and through:

“I had an amazing time with my husband! Being able to spend 7 hours with him is an amazing thing. It doesn’t just benefit his well-being but mine as well! The bonding time we got to have as a couple is the best feeling in the world!!! Thank you so much!!!!”

We are thrilled that it was a special time for this precious woman and her husband and that so many families were able to spend quality time together during the event!

What has TUMI meant to you?

Men at the Wallace Pack Unit who are halfway through the 4-year TUMI program were recently asked about what it has meant to them to be involved in TUMI. Here are some of the responses:

“I am so much more confident in my understanding of the Bible.”

“As a result of TUMI, I’ve been encouraged to start a Bible study with my family.”

“I have gained so much confidence in understanding. I now lead a Bible study with the men I live with.”

“I feel so much more confident in witnessing to unsaved men that I have contact with.”

“I lead the Catholic services. And enjoy sharing with the men all the things that I have learned in TUMI. The Nicene Creed, which we use in TUMI, bridges the gap between Protestants and Catholics in the Unit.

“Facilitating the messianic Jewish services has been enhanced by all the things that I have learned in my studies with TUMI.”

“I now know how to exegete scripture and to discern truth from false teaching.”

Please know that when you give to ELC, you directly support efforts to minister to these men and women, as well as others like them. Our work is an extension of your generosity.

If you would like to make a contribution now, please click on the “Give a Gift” button below. Whether giving, praying, or volunteering, we are deeply grateful to you and humbled to be a part of God’s work behind bars.

Thank you for your continued support of this ministry.

God bless you and keep you,

Pastor Anderson & the Team at ELC
